Message from the Mayor.jpg)
Greetings Fellow Citizens of Jersey City:
I welcome you to Jersey City’s official web site. Please use this site as a resource to familiarize yourself about City services and special events. As the second-largest city in the State of New Jersey, Jersey City offers its residents numerous municipal services and hosts premier cultural events, such as art openings, concerts and ethnic festivals and parades that take place all throughout the year.
I encourage you to acquaint yourself with the people responsible for keeping the City running and moving forward, our Department and Division Directors. Their job is to serve you and address your questions and concerns. Feel free to contact them, no matter how big or small you may think your problem is. That’s why we are here.
Additionally, our new website also has a feature called “The Online Help Center,” which residents may use to submit service requests. This system will forward the request to the proper department or agency, and residents will receive an email letting them know when their problem has been resolved.
I also want to thank you for granting me the privilege of serving as your Mayor. As a Jersey City homeowner, whose children and grandchildren live in Jersey City, I have made it my top priority to bring you the quality of life you deserve. During the first half of my administration, a partnership has been built between City Hall and the community. This new relationship is forging new solutions and a unified vision for Jersey City.
Jersey City is on a path of transformation and faces extraordinary opportunities as well as challenges. I have a bold vision and commitment to see these changes through, to create a city that is progressing as whole; where leaders are held accountable for their actions and work collectively regardless of political affiliation; where surrounding communities look to Jersey City as a model for how a city should conduct itself; and where people treat each other with care and respect. This is my pledge to Jersey City.
Jerramiah T. Healy
