The Office of Diversity & Inclusion (ODI) promotes equality of economic opportunity for Jersey City residents from underrepresented demographics through supplier diversity, workforce diversity, workplace inclusion, and contract compliance initiatives.

ODI collaborates with city departments, such as the Office of Abatement & Compliance and the Division of Purchasing, outside agencies, and community partners, to accomplish the goals of the office.

 

Minority/Women Business Enterprise Directory

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion maintains a directory of all certified Minority-owned (MBE)/Woman-owned (WBE)/Small Business (SBE)/Veteran-owned (VOB)/Disadvantaged (DBE)enterprises registered to do business with the City.

 

MWBE Directory Registration Form

Qualified businesses will need the following to register:

  • New Jersey Business Registration Certificate
  • New Jersey MBE/WBE/SBE/VOB/DBE Certification
  • Completed Tax Form W-9

 

Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Board Meetings

Every 4th Thursday, City Hall, 6 pm

The Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Board serves to advise the Mayor and City officials on methods to best eradicate and remediate discrimination and economic disparity affecting the city’s historically underrepresented constituencies.

 

Doing Business with Jersey City

In collaboration with the Division of Purchasing and Jersey City Economic Development Corporation, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion hosts a bi-annual seminar that teaches MBE/WBE/SBE/VOB/DBE owners how to obtain small business loans and become a vendor for the City of Jersey City. This seminar introduces business owners to the municipal procurement processes and helpful resources for expanding their businesses.
